Color block and create pictures in your knitting!
In this 2-hour hands-on class, you will work a swatch that will teach you how to knit intarsia flat. We'll cover:
how to read intarsia charts
how to start, change, and end a color
how to prepare and estimate yarn use
how to manage your yarn and tangles
how to weave in all those ends
how to create your own designs
Pre-requisites:
knitting, purling, cast on, bind off
Materials:
Worsted/DK weight yarn, 30 yards in each of 3 different colors; US 6 to US 8 needles (can be straights, circular, or longer DPNs), scissors, tapestry needle, something to take notes with.
Homework:
With darkest color, cast on 24 sts and knit 3 rows. Leave work on the needles.
When: Saturday January 31st, 10a-noon
