Knit a Sweater that Fits!! June/July 2024

Knit a Sweater that Fits!! June/July 2024

Have you wanted to knit a sweater that really fits?

Sherry Smith will guide you through the process step by step with plenty of time to do homework between classes. Come join in the fun!!

We will be working the Goldwing Sweater by Jennifer Steingass. Details are below.

You must be comfortable knitting in the round and be willing to learn new things! This class will not teach you the fair isle colorwork technique needed for the class. However, there are options if you don't know how to fair isle. 1. You can take the warm-up class: Learn Fair Isle Knitting on June 15th. Or.... 2. You can knit the sweater without doing the colorwork (or only do a minimal amount). The important lessons to get a sweater that fits are the focus.

Please come by the shop if you need any help picking yarn or if you need advise. (Or call). Supply details are noted below as well.

Goldwing is a top down and seamless circular yoke sweater with colorwork sleeves and an applied I-cord cuff. This project knits up quickly with sport, DK or worsted weight yarn. Using just 2 colors, the contrast and main colors switch at the midway point of the yoke for both dark on light and light on dark color play.  Options for your choice of rolled or ribbed neckline are included. This pattern is suitable for stranded colorwork beginners with rhythmic and easy to knit motifs. The feathers and colors were inspired by the Golden Snitch from Harry Potter!
