Riverbank Scarf

RiverbankCover

Long and fluffy as a cloud. Riverbank shawl is a fun and relaxing knit alternating fingering weight mini skeins and lace weight mohair/silk held double. Most of the scarf is knit in garter stitch stripes with just a few alternate stitches used to create the shaping and a nice slipped stitch edge. Use any combination of five special mini skeins you’ve been saving with two different colors of mohair. Alternating the mohair causes the color changes which appear more complicated than they are. Check out the last photo for the skeins I used for this sample.

I used one of my own hand dyed SWIRL mini sets plus two hand dyed mohair skeins. They are shown in the last pic. For those of you who aren’t familiar with my mini set SWIRLs, they are five carefully dyed and selected mini skeins (87 yards each) that are twisted together so that you are able to see how well the colors play together and can hopefully visualize easier how the resultant project will look. When you undo the SWIRL skein, there are five separate mini skeins. I have plenty of SWIRLs and mohair skeins at my shop in Waxahachie. You can also purchase sets at my two upcoming trunk shows and at ‘Fiber Fun in the Sip’ this coming fall. Check out upcoming events above. I was also thinking of posting a handful of sets for sale on IG later this week. Follow me there to snag one!

Thank you so much!!

Knitted Skirt Class

TakeTwoSkirtThree spots left!! Contact me here for more info!!

Class Description:

The Take-Two Skirt, by Ann Budd, is worked in a fingering weight wool yarn. It creates a firm but lightweight fabric. It is designed to have 0-1” negative ease around the waist and hips for a slimming fit. Four darts shape the hip area; then purl stitches are added between “pleats” to provide flare for the lower edge. Slipped stitches make the “pleats” look more elongated. Twisted stitches are worked along each edge of the pleat sections for crisp pleat definition.
